It is just after dawn in April, 1941 at Souther Field at Americus, Georgia and the Aviation Cadets of Class 41-I are beginning another day.  The red clay dust of the airfield covers the cadets, their civilian instructors and their Stearman PT-17 trainers as they scramble into the air.
