Returning from a bombing mission to Rabaul our B-17 makes a turn around a sunken ship in the Harbor at Port Moresby. We are at 500’ with the gear down, the landing lights on and are hoping that the Australian Ack-Ack guns remain quiet. This was the method of identification on the approach to Seven Mile Airstrip.
