At 7-mile airstrip in Port Moresby in New Guinea, in the summer of 1942, a B-17E of the 19thBomb Group is taxiing past a parked B-17. The surface of the taxiway is a fine granulated powder from crushed coral. The individuals in the foreground are about to be covered with the fine dust. It is very hot and very humid and the dust clings to your damp clothes. The officer in the jeep is not happy.
